Protesting Students End Occupation of University of Manchester Building
Students end occupation at University of Manchester after being holed up for eight days.
The Free Education Mcr group began their anti-government demonstration by occupying one floor of the university’s business school last Wednesday.
Students who have been occupying a university building for more than week have called time on their protest.
The Free Education MCR group have been holed up in the University of Manchester’s Harold Hankins building since last Wednesday in a protest against Government cuts and tuition fees.
Their week of solidarity has seen them smuggle more than 30 demonstrators past security, hold poetry workshops and stage two other occupations.
The group have released a statement on their Facebook Page
