    • About Huddersfield

Ok so you’re looking for a uni and you want to know what the University Huddersfield has got to offer.

Academically, the former poly (it got full university status in the 1990s) is proving successful and the staff have a dedication to student development. The uni offer support for graduating entrepreneurs, with the on site Business Mine facility offering office space and business mentoring for wannabe Sir Bransons and Sugars. As for student facilities – the Centre for Precision Technologies is rated the finest of its kind in the country and sonic lab was the first of its kind in the UK.

The town itself lends itself to the Northern stereotype, with strong accents and friendly faces. The new builds from the uni have been mirrored with civil developments, and the town has benefitted from a generous amount of economic input. For hardcore clubbers the nearby hotspots of Leeds and Manchester are paradise, but Huddersfield has enough clubs and venues to satisfy - no matter what music or ‘scene’ you’re into.

Trendier bars have proved popular in the town and now there’s a good choice of drinking holes and pubs to tour – with friendly, thirsty clientele in most.
