Statistics prove Isle of Wight Festival 2015 is No 1
Since re-launching in 2002, The Isle of Wight Festival has established itself as the festival of the summer constantly delivering the biggest and best names in music such as Foo Fighters, Muse, Stone Roses, Coldplay and Jay-Z. This year, organisers have statistically smashed it with the line-up!
With three weeks left until The Isle of Wight Festival 2015 kicks off the summer festival season, Blur and The Prodigy are revealed as the most successful album chart acts of all this year’s major festivals, with an impressive six number one albums each. Both bands have enjoyed Number One albums with new studio releases this year; The Prodigy with The Day Is My Enemy and Blur with The Magic Whip.
In total, all the headline acts for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival have notched up 19 Number One albums in the UK between them. This means that The Isle of Wight Festival headline acts in 2015 have scored more UK Number One albums than other major UK festivals. We can’t argue with statistics!
Statistics are for headliners at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, V Festival, T in the Park and Bestival and taking into account Studio Albums, Live Albums & Compilation Albums.
