More Student Apartments Planned for Derby
A block of flats in Derby will be demolished and replaced with multi-million-pound student accommodation if a planning application is successful.
Mr Nick Brammer of Bramdale Period Mouldings has submitted plans to Derby City Council drawn up by Derby based Montague Architects Limited.
The current two-storey flats, Burleigh Court and Haddon Court on Nuns Street would be replaced by a building on 5 levels that would contain about 125 rooms, arranged in 4-7 bedroom apartments with a small number of studio apartments.
The planning application stated the existing building is not considered to be of architectural merit and it does not make a valuable contribution to the street scene.
Other student accommodation is located nearby includes Nunnery Court, Nuns Street; and Princess Alice Court, and Darley Bank, Bridge Street.
A planning decision is expected by August 4th 2015
