Crosslane Student Developments and Pochin Construction complete the 'topping out' ceremony for their development 'Glassworks' in Liverpool.

Glassworks is a £18.5m student accommodation block located on the Eastern side of Vauxhall Road a key gateway into Liverpool City Centre.

The scheme consists of 323 en-suite rooms designed around an open courtyard, with a student common room, laundry and games area fronting onto Vauxhall Road, which provides much needed active frontage and amenities to the surrounding private residential and student community.

Crosslane Student Developments director Andy Whatson said: "Liverpool's student population has swelled in recent years, and we're thrilled to be able to establish a presence in this fantastic city. "The demand for high-quality student accommodation continues to grow and we envisage that Glassworks will be at the forefront of that market.

The new accommodation will be managed by Crosslane's sister company Prime Student Living.

Crosslane appointed Pochin for the construction of the development, who are also building Ablett House another new student accommodation scheme opening in Liverpool this September, continuing their long and successful history in Liverpool

The Glassworks scheme was designed by Manchester based DAY Architectural Ltd, the concept and architectural appearance of the building was developed to respond to the sites historic use to symbolise and express amorphous molecular glass structures.
