About London - Lewisham
Despite its location on the borough’s border with Greenwich, Blackheath is known as the Lewisham’s major centre.
Built on and around a heath (no surprise there) there is a village feel to the place, with fine eating and cosy pubs for the discerning drinker. For those seeking the livelier atmosphere of London living, New Cross and the surrounding streets have become known for cutting edge music-cool. From the Brit pop phenomenon in the ‘90s to the Nu Rave craze in the last few years, the New Cross people and places have nurtured some of freshest and innovative acts of the British music scene. Now becoming known as the Shoreditch of South London, New Cross is a place to be seen for many of London’s party people and scene-followers.
