About University of Canberra

The University of Canberra is located in Australia’s national capital. Currently we have 2500 international students from over 100 different countries, which means we enjoy a rich and diverse campus culture.

With our new Strategic Plan, ‘Breakthrough’, our purpose is to help you develop the strengths and skills you need to make important academic, professional and personal breakthroughs in your life. We aim to be recognised as one of Australia’s most innovative tertiary institutions; world-ranked, with regional, national and international reach by 2018. Our research delivers solutions to real-world challenges while our research income and research publications continue to increase.

On the teaching front, the University of Canberra delivers a professional education focused on equipping students with the skills to hit the ground running in their careers. Our graduates are among the most sought after and highly paid in the country.  The hands-on work experience we offer lets you put theory into practice and is an important reason why we were consistently ranked among Australia’s top universities for ‘Getting a Job’ and ‘Starting Salary’ in The Good Universities Guide

When you ask most people they say that their university years were the best years of their life. And here at the University of Canberra, we think that’s exactly the way it should be. Set in a native haven of clean air, tall trees and huge expanses of lawn, you’ll enjoy the company of Australian wildlife including parrots, cockatoos and even resident kangaroos. Despite its peaceful setting, the campus is an exciting and inspiring place to be.

While study will always remain your priority, there are plenty of opportunities to socialise with your fellow students. There are concerts including our famous music festival Groovin’ the Moo, market days, dinners and different sorts of theatre from all over the world.

There are also a number of clubs and societies you’re welcome to join. These range from social to cultural and are a great way to meet others who share your interests

If you like to keep fit there’s a sports and fitness centre that includes a gymnasium as well as squash, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts, plus ovals for all football codes. Our interest in sport doesn’t stop there either. As well as enjoying a close relationship with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), we’re partners with the Brumbies rugby team, the Canberra Capitals basketball team and the Canberra United women’s soccer team. When it comes time to unwind and relax with friends, you won’t have to travel far at all. There are bars, coffee shops and restaurants all right here on campus.

When you study at the University of Canberra you’ll find campus life exciting, entertaining and full of fun.
