The University’s areas of specialism include teaching, sport, health and wellbeing, social sciences, business and performing arts. Students work in cutting edge facilities, including live music studios, a crime scene house, journalism newsroom, sports science laboratories and health science clinics in which students work closely with members of the public.  

The Campus offers a new Student Bar, swimming pool and gym, world-class sports facilities, new Student Hub for support services, computer games room and an Arts Centre with a large theatre.

The campus is situated near to Dartmoor National Park, by the main Plymouth Hospital and Science Park. It is well connected with a regular bus service to the city centre, where you can enjoy the dazzling views and waterfront of Plymouth. Theatres, cinemas, high street stores and restaurants are never in short supply, while bars and clubs will keep you entertained come the evening.

The university was awarded a silver in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework, and many of our student reviewers enjoy the warm, friendly atmosphere they encounter at the institution. They were also named the top University in the UK for social mobility in a one-off report in 2014.

All of the university’s programmes involve relevant work experience, and all students are trained in critical graduate-level skills such as presenting with impact, applying for jobs, managing interviews and influencing others, with 95% of graduates finding employment or going into further education within six months of graduation.

The university’s relationships with over 600 schools mean that education and teacher training students have high access to a wide range of opportunities. Marjon teaching graduates earn more after 5 years than any other education graduates in the South West and Wales according to the Longitudinal Education Outcomes data 2017.
