    • About Northampton

Northampton is the one of fastest growing towns in the country, and is essentially a city in all but name.

Roughly an hour from London, Birmingham and Leicester, and apparently only a two hour drive from 75% of the population, the location is perfect for those who want to get away from home for uni life, but remain close enough for comfort. Culture vultures have the Derngate complex hosting shows and touring comedy talent, with a variety of venues hosting touring indie bands and emerging acts.

Shopping is good if not exactly great, and the clubbing and bar scene is fast improving with the town itself. The surrounding county is a haven for petrol heads, with world famous racing at Silverstone and Rockingham Speedway nearby. University of Northampton is a modern uni with two sites, the Park and Avenue campuses sitting less than three miles apart, connected by a regular bus. Both sites have SU facilities, with the main club complex on site at the Park campus. The artier sorts tend to be based on the Avenue campus whilst Park has a sensibly studious atmosphere until beer ‘o’ clock.
