About Victoria University Melbourne Australia
Victoria University (VU) celebrated a Centenary of opportunity in 2016 marking 100 years of delivering high quality, accessible education in the west of Melbourne.
Through our strong industry connections and leadership in sport education, we provide opportunities for every individual to achieve success on their own terms, and prepare them not just for a career, but for life.
As one of only a few Australian universities to offer both vocational training (TAFE) and higher education with direct pathways between the two, our range of courses includes apprenticeships, certificates, diplomas, degrees and postgraduate programs.
We have over 45,000 students from around the world studying at one of our many campuses in Melbourne’s west and the CBD – as well as an international campus in Sydney.
No matter where you are in life, we believe that victory is yours for the making.
Victoria University achieved university status in 1990, but our preceding institutions date back to 1916. Today, we have more than 46,000 enrolled higher education, and vocational education and training students studying on our campuses, including almost 5000 international students. More than 9400 international students study Victoria University courses at overseas partner institutions, mainly in Asia.
We are one of Australia’s few dual-sector universities. This means students can easily pathway from vocational education to higher education - such as from a certificate or diploma course through to an undergraduate degree or even a postgraduate qualification by coursework or research.
Victoria University (VU) aims to enrich your social and learning opportunities with events and opportunities both on and off campus.
The first social event on your calendar should be Orientation, which happens early in each semester. Orientation is designed to help you make the first connection with VU, creating social and networking opportunities for you. Once you have settled into University life, there are leadership groups, sport clubs, student clubs and societies, volunteer opportunities and competitions to suit everyone.
