About Griffith University
We know success often comes from doing things differently—challenging convention, adapting and innovating, recognising trends and pioneering solutions ahead of their time. Since we started teaching 41 years ago, we’ve been deeply connected to the Asian region, environmentally aware, open to the community and industry focused. We’ve also become a comprehensive, research-intensive university, ranking in the top 3% of universities worldwide.
Our teaching and research spans five campuses in South East Queensland and all disciplines, while our network of more than 200,000 graduates extends around the world.
Griffith is a highly ranked university with an international outlook and a commitment to the community
Our research excellence and innovative teaching and learning practices, along with our deep connections with community and industry, makes us one of the leading providers of higher education in the Asia–Pacific.
The University continues the progressive traditions of our namesake, Sir Samuel Walker Griffith, who was twice the Premier of Queensland, the first Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia, and the principal author of the Australian Constitution.
Griffith ranks highly as a young university, ranking 37th in the 2015–2016 QS University Rankings: Top 50 Under 50 and 48th in the 2015 Times Higher Education Top 150 under 50. Being a young university means we have the freedom to respect tradition without being restricted by it, which gives us the flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing needs of students, industry and the community. We’ve introduced Australia’s first degrees in a wide range of important areas, from Asian studies and environmental science to dental technology and forensic science. We were also quick to adopt online education, and have offered online study options for almost 20 years.
Your student days should be among the best of your life and we have a range of ways to help make your time at Griffith fun and unforgettable. Our five campuses are a thriving community offering plenty of opportunities to meet new friends and enrich your university experience. Discover all Griffith has to offer aside from your studies, from eating to events, sport to support and everything in between.
Our five campuses are located throughout South East Queensland in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Logan
With a superb subtropical climate and a mixture of natural wonders and vibrant city life, our region provides an ideal setting in which to enjoy life outside of study. See what makes each of these cities tick and discover why thousands move to South East Queensland each year.
