About Edge Hill University
Edge Hill University is based on an award-winning 160-acre campus in the North West, close to Liverpool and Manchester. The institution has been a provider of higher education for over 130 years, with a mission to create opportunity from knowledge. This ethos is supported by a range of awards and high rankings for its outstanding teaching, student experience and accommodation, notably ranking Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (2017) and receiving the Global Spotlight Award in 2018, firmly establishing the University as one of the best providers of higher education in the world.
A £300m investment over the last decade has created an attractive campus complete with industry-standard facilities to support graduate employability, of which the university ranks highly for. Latest developments include a new Technology Hub for Computer Sciences, additional labs for geosciences, a newly-developed Arts Centre for Performing Arts students, a sixty-acre Sport and Leisure complex and, most recently, the new Catalyst building, home to the University library and high-performance workstations to enrich studies. These buildings sit alongside historic buildings, scenic lakes, plenty of green spaces and even a beach on campus.
The University is renowned for offering the best student experience in the North West, with its Student’s Union ranked in the UK top 12. Recently shortlisted for the prestigious University of the Year title in the 2018 WhatUni Student Choice Awards, it’s no surprise that Edge Hill stands as one of the top five campuses in UK higher education (StudentCrowd 2018).
